Hi my name is Kelly I am 27 years old and so is my husband. I have never been pregnant trying for 1.5 years. As far as i know everything is ok with me. I do ovulate regularly, but my husband had a vericocele repair after low sperm count, now 4 months later counts got worse. The first count was 7 mill with 53% motility and 40 % abnormal morphology now 1.9 mill and 50% motility and 80 % abnormal morphology. I have a couple questions. 1. Is it normal for counts to get worse after surgery and 2. What options do we have to get pregnant now, and what the odds of these options working? My husband does not want to do ivf. 3. I also wanted to know what the chances of getting pregnant with this count without doing anything is. The urologist put him on clomid 50 mg 5 days a week for 3 months. He just started it yesterday. The urologist said to wait 3 months and repeat the sperm count and then try artificial insemination. He also says we do not need to see a fertility specialist yet. Is this true? I am close to your area and a coworker recommended you to me that is how i found this site. My ob-gyn is not willing to discuss anything with me so I am looking for a new one and I feel like the urologist may not know what is best as he does not specialize in any type of fertility. Any information you could give me would be very much appreciated. I have spent my whole life planning for children and really want to know if it will be possible or not.
